1987 Newsnight report on debut of DNA evidence

In 1987 police used a revolutionary technique called genetic fingerprinting for the first time on a mass population in a bid to catch the killer of Dawn Ashworth and Lynda Mann in Leicestershire.

Gill Nevill reports on the case and the issues raised by the introduction of genetic fingerprinting.
