US Democrats are divided over President Barack Obama's controversial plan to reform healthcare by providing cover for the 47m Americans who have no health insurance and driving down costs.

As Laura Trevelyan reports some say the changes will be too costly while others says they will oppose any attempt to water down the idea of universal access.
