Petraeus on US military action

General David Petraeus has described life on the ground and explained US military action in Iraq over the last seven years.

He gave Newsnight his last TV interview as commander in Iraq, as he prepares to take over in charge of US Central Command - running all American operations in the Middle East, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
