The first index of corporate responsibility has been published in the UK. But how do you assess how well a company behaves? There is no single measurement for goodness. More or Less spoke to Patrick Mallon of Business in the Community; and Stephen Hind of the Ethical Investment Research Service, EIRIS. Understanding science Plus, the writer Joseph Schwartz argues that the language of maths took over science at the time of Galileo and we have been paying for it with unintelligibility ever since. E-mail us with your views at Also in the programme: University of Leeds philosopher Peter Simons argues that computers distract us from the questions that really count; and listener Paul Sims explains how he remembers his 25 identity numbers.
