In the week of the Royal Wedding of Prince William to Kate Middleton, Money Box is turning its attention to wedding finances. On average, people in the UK spend at least £10,000 tying the knot. There are big financial decisions to be made planning the big day. Just how do you decide what your budget is going to be and then stick to it? What method of payment is suitable? What are your consumer rights if things go wrong? You may also need to consider the best way to save for the event or obtain a loan if you need one. Should you take out wedding insurance? What level of cover would be suitable for you? And does it include wedding ceremonies outside the UK? You might also want some tips on how to negotiate discounts with wedding venues or caterers.
