Do you need help completing your tax return or dealing with a tricky tax question? The deadline for filing your 2009/10 tax return online and paying any tax you owe is midnight on Monday 31 January. Over 3.5 million people have already filed online including 845 who knuckled down on Christmas day and a further 5 thousand who managed to finish it off on New Years Day. If your return is late HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) will charge an automatic £100 penalty. What information and records do you need? Should you declare income from dividends, savings or trusts? Which expenses can be claimed and what proof is needed? How do you pay the tax owed? Or perhaps you have been sent a notice of over or underpayment and want advice? Whatever your question, Paul Lewis and guests were ready to help. Paul Lewis was joined by: • Leonie Kerswill, tax partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers • Chas Roy-Chowdhury, head of taxation, Association of Chartered Certified Accountants • Jane Moore, tax faculty technical manager, Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales Presenter: Paul Lewis Producers: Diane Richardson
