BBC Radio 4's Money Box Live
Wednesday, 29 December 2010 at 1502 GMT On Radio 4 and Online

Severe weather has disrupted the travel plans of thousands of people trying to get away for Christmas and New Year.

The holiday began with cancellations and delays for air and rail passengers, many spending hours stranded in terminals.

Eurostar passengers endured lengthy queues in freezing temperatures outside the terminal building.

What happens if your journey is delayed or cancelled?

Are you entitled to care and assistance while you wait?

Maybe you have been offered unsuitable alternative travel?

Who pays if you have been forced to pay for an unplanned overnight stay?

Perhaps you have been unable to reach your destination but have already paid for the hotel?

How do you find out about your rights and complain?

When will your insurer step in to help?
