 | BBC Radio 4's Money Box Saturday, 26 December 2009 at 1204 GMT On Radio 4 and Online |
Boxing Day's Money Box is devoted to property. The housing market defied most predictions in 2009. stronger in some ways but weaker in others. A year ago unemployment was climbing rapidly, lending of all kinds had collapsed, house prices were falling and estate agents closing down around the country. But in May property prices pulled out of their nose dive, and are now almost back where they were this time last year. Money Box invites last year's panellists back, to look back on the year - and their forecasts - and give us their best guess as to what will happen in 2010. Contributors: Melanie Bien, Savills Private Finance Simon Rubinsohn, Chief Economist, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Martin Roberts, Presenter: Homes Under the Hammer Henry Pryor, independent property consultant.
