Barclays statement

Barclays bank provided the programme with the following statement on 16 April 2009.

Barclays works closely with all its customers to establish their current and future needs, objectives and appetite for investment risk. We recognise that all our customers are different and our recommendations are tailored to the individual needs of our customers.

The Aviva Global Income Funds are investments designed to provide attractive levels of income for investors prepared to accept differing levels of risk with their capital. Whilst recent market conditions have been tough, it must be borne in mind that these products are long term investments.

Whilst we cannot comment on individual cases, Barclays does take all complaints very seriously and fully investigates all concerns raised by its customers. Our customers are provided with written updates during the course of the complaint process and if they are dissatisfied with the outcome they may refer their complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
