The FTSE 100 index of leading shares recorded its biggest annual decline last year since the index was launched in 1984. Some commentators are saying that 2009 will see a massive resurgence. Savings Over the festive period rates on savings product have continued to fall, following the last base rate cut of 1% in December. The Monetary Policy Committee will be meeting again this week - so what will 2009 hold for Britain's savers? Rachel Thrussell from Moneyfacts takes us through the best rates. As the pound continues to weaken against the euro many holiday makers planning a trip abroad are faced with a dilemma.
