On Monday's Money Box Live, Paul Lewis took your questions about pensions and put them to a panel of experts.

January 2009 will mark the 100th anniversary of the first pension payment, following the passing of the Old Age Pensions Act in August 1908.

And after being in operation for more than a century the system will change in 2012 when personal accounts - the new government-backed, national pension plan - will be introduced.

In addition to the state pension, there are a number of other options available: You may also be thinking about choosing to take out a private or work scheme.

How will personal accounts work and will they affect your pension?

If you are choosing a private scheme how much do you need to save and what else should you be thinking about?
