The transvestite ceramicist Grayson Perry told HARDtalk he believes that the identity of the maker of art is often the most significant thing about the piece.
He said "It can be any old bit of tat but if it has the right name attached to it it becomes immensely significant - and valuable of course."
His latest exhibition, The Tomb of the Unknown Craftsman, is at the British Museum.
