Libyan opposition activist Guma El-Gamaty says it has been "annoying" and "distressing" to see Western countries doing business with Libya in recent years, in effect propping up the Gaddafi regime.
Middle East analyst Professor Fawaz Gerges says the West courted Colonel Gaddafi, but now needs to provide moral support and send a clear message to the Libyan people that the international community supports its protests.
