Eight years on - and the search for Karadzic continues
The former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic is hiding in Montenegro where peacekeepers have no jurisdiction, File on 4 reveals.
Mr Karadzic has been on the run for the past eight years, protected by powerful criminal networks.
He has been indicted for genocide by the UN war crimes tribunal in the Hague for his part in the Bosnian war.
Sources close to the investigation say he is believed to be in a remote part of north-west Montenegro.
Karadzic's military commander Ratko Mladic is also still on the run.

File on 4 says they have managed to remain free for the past decade for a number of reasons, primarily a lack of co-ordination and, at times, a lack of will by the internationmal community to force their capture or surrender.
A source close to the investigation told the programme that one of the basic problems has been the sheer number of international organisations operating in Bosnia over the past 10 years.
He says all of these organisations have their own agendas and all of them gain intelligence about war criminals. But to what extent they work together and share intelligence is a moot point.
