Climate change is now seen as the biggest long term threat to Australia's Great Barrier Reef, which has shown clear signs of erosion over the last 30 years.
A report by the Australian Institute of Marine Science recently highlighted the scale of the decline - which is being made worse by natural disasters such as cyclones and the coral-eating crown of thorns starfish.
