Shanghai gets back in the saddle

In the rapid race for economic development over the past 20 years, many in Shanghai abandoned their bike for the ultimate status symbol - the car.

But now the Chinese government is reinstating bicycle paths on major roads to ease congestion and reduce pollution.

Carmen Roberts has been on a cycling tour of Shanghai to see what it is like for a tourist on two wheels in the world's most populous country.
