Merchants and traders once flocked to the southern Indian town of Alleppey, but the maritime heyday of the town once nicknamed "the Venice of the East" has long since disappeared.
Now Alleppey's neglected waterways are being transformed and tourism is beginning to drive the economy, as Mike London reports.
