Is 3D TV more than an expensive leap of faith?

3D films have hit cinema screens and boosted box office takings during the last 12 months. But getting the same effect at home has meant spending a lot of money - and even with the right kit there hasn't been a lot to watch.

But this is set to change as Sky 3D, Europe's first 3D TV channel, goes on air, offering a mix of sport and movies direct to your home.

Peter Price looks at the challenges involved in getting content made and delivered, and wonders who will be watching it.
