Kate Russell gives us her latest selection of the best sites on the World Wide Web.

Bubblesnaps

Virtual postcards, or e-cards as they are otherwise known, are a great way to add a little personality to your online communications. But with our first site you can add a lot of personality - you will find it at bubblesnaps.com.

This site is incredibly easy to use, and you do not even have to register unless you want to keep your bubblesnaps online for more that 10 days, which should be long enough for most people to have a look.

The demo is very straightforward too and can be accessed through the button on the main page.

It tells you to create your own bubblesnap using the tab at the top. First off upload a picture from your hard drive or your FlickR account.

The next page prompts you to type a speech bubble - you can change this to a thought bubble with the icon at the bottom - and grab the resizing and positioning handles to fine tune the bubble's placement in your picture.

Next up just type a message and send. Now what could be easier than that?

EarthCam

If the internet is a gateway to the world, then webcams are the windows of the world - allowing you to glimpse the everyday happenings in the most remote locations, all from the comfort of your computer.

Earthcam.com is a site that celebrates the webcam craze, gathering together links to some of the best and most interesting feeds the world over - all just a click or two away.

The site itself is relatively basic in design, laid out magazine style with various lists and sections clickable from the opening page.

But as most webcam feeds are found buried away in obscure sections of their host website, EarthCam does a great job of just placing them all within reach after just a click or two of your mouse.

Check out the Top 10 section, which apparently changes quite often. You will find street scenes and beach scenes, and even some small furry animals.

If you have a page you would like to see featured then why not submit it to the site? Just click the link above the search box for a form to fill in.

Driving Ethanol

If you are worried about climate change, but cannot imagine life without your car, then maybe you should be thinking about different types of fuel? Such as ethanol - a renewable fuel made from organic material - such as corn.

And it is surprising just how many vehicles are already running on ethanol - for example did you know the IndyCar series in America runs on ethanol? Me neither - but you can find out more at drivingethanol.com.

This website is simply packed full of really enlightening facts about ethanol as a fuel. Use the Ethanol Facts link at the top to get you started - and when you are ready to find out more about switching your fuel consumption then the Ethanol in Vehicles link is situated right beside it.

I did not realise until reading this site that some modern cars are already able to run on this environmentally friendly fuel. A great site well laid out with some really interesting information. And it might help save our environment too.

The Four Word Film Review

And finally, with the average attention span of modern man getting shorter and shorter, what could be more fitting than the next site - fwfr.com - which stands for Four Word Film Review.

Yes that is right, a film review in just four words. But how can you possibly review a film properly in just four words? Well the answer is you can't, not really.

But what you can do is have a little fun. From the opening page it all becomes quite clear - users of the site are invited to submit their own four-word review, and you can browse through the entries in a number of ways which are quite obvious from the interface.

If you want to add your own review or compete for the top reviewers accolade then you will need to register, but just browsing the titles requires no registration, and can be very amusing.

Do be aware this is unmoderated user-generated content though, and it seems that some people just cannot help trying to spoil the party. For the most part though the entries are fun and often quite clever.
