| Sunday, 20 October, 2002, 13:07 GMT 14:07 UK Sunday 13 October 2002 ![]() Bertie Ahern, Irish Prime Minister Sunday 13th October 2002 On the programme this week the Irish Prime Minister, Bertie Ahern, warned that the Northern Ireland peace process could be endangered, if the political institutions at Stormont are suspended for too long. The Northern Ireland Secretary, John Reid, is expected to suspend the power-sharing Executive for an indefinite period tomorrow, while he tries to resolve the current crisis with all the parties involved. Mr Ahern acknowledged that suspension looked inevitable, in the light of the police investigation into an alleged IRA spying operation. A senior Sinn Fein official was among three people charged with possessing documents, likely to be of use to terrorists.
