Peter Sissons hosted the programme this morning, standing in for Sir David who is taking several weeks' holiday over the Summer. The Trade and Industry Secretary, Patricia Hewitt joined him and endorsed President Bush's view that senior company executives guilty of white collar fraud should face stiff fines and even prison.

The acting Chief Constable of the Police Service of Northern Ireland commented on the latest situation at Drumcree, and the world-renowned peace negotiator, former Senator George Mitchell, spoke to Peter about prospects for peace in both Northen Ireland and the Middle East.

In the wake of the Ladies Finals at Wimbledon, the Mother of the world's most famous tennis sisters joined Peter to celebrate her daughter Serena's success at the All England club. Brandy Williams said the secret of both her daughter's toughness and athleticism lay in their genes.

And ahead of the Mens Singles final, the former Wimbledon champion Pat Cash spoke of his hopes for another Aussie to win the title. Cash sat alongside the head of Sport Relief, Kevin Cahill, who explained how sportsmen and women - including Pat Cash - were getting involved to help raise money for the campaign.

The Right Reverend Richard Harries, Bishop of Oxford, joined Peter from York, where bishops from every outpost of the Church of England had gathered on the eve of the announcement of who is to be the new Archbishop of Canterbury. And reviewing this Sunday's newspapers were the columnist and author Allison Pearson, and the Liberal Democrat MP, Lembit Opik.
