| ![]() Tory leadership candidate Iain Duncan Smith Sunday 2nd September on BBC 1 On this week's programme, Tory leadership candidate Iain Duncan Smith told Sir David Frost why he believes is the right person to become the next leader of the Conservative Party. He is used this opportunity to defy claims that he appeals to right-wing extremists and stressed the importance of attacking the government for their record on health and education. Speaking on behalf of Iain Duncan Smith's rival, Tory Party Vice Chairman Steve Norris told Sir David why he thinks Ken Clarke should, and will win the contest. He said he felt the Duncan Smith campaign is characterised by "wanting to be even more right wing than William Hague" and that Clarke has a much greater appeal to the millions of people who actually represent voters. Rt Hon Estelle Morris MP, Secretary of State for Education, talked to Sir David about the forthcoming education White Paper and about the current crisis facing teacher recruitment. Impressionist comedian, Rory Bremner, also joined Sir David in the studio impersonating, amongst others, the Tory leadership candidates and past Conservative leaders. The singer Sophie Ellis-Bexter and Times journalist Matthew Parris assisted with the review of the Sunday newspapers.
