The Hawskworths have been looking at the science of it all |
The world's leading scientists will put an end to years of arguments over global warming today. A UN-sponsored conference in Paris is expected to conclude: yes global warming exists, and yes, it's a man-made phenomenon.
It will warn of potentially devastating consequences for the whole world, as polar ice caps melt and sea levels rise.
This morning on Breakfast:
We found out what our low-carb family, the Hawksworths, made of it all. We sent all seven of them to investigate the science behind global warming - and find out what they can do to help.
The Hawksworths' personal carbon footprint: a mean trick? |
We've also played a bit of a mean trick on them. We've taken their data and had it made up into a real footprint.
What's surprised the family, who usually holiday in Britain, is how much of the footprint is taken up by a couple of shorthaul flights, for a long weekend in Dublin.
