Earleir in the month, Breakfast's Susannah Streeter reported on a story where individuals were helping themselves to used clothing, put out for charities and selling them on in Eastern European countries Lots of you contacted us about this.
Trading Standards officers are becoming increasingly concerned about the number of bogus charities operating across the country.
We discovered that some private companies are delivering leaflets implying they are collecting for people in need when in fact they are selling on the donations of clothes and household goods for profit.
Other doorstep collectors are operating under names of companies which have been dissolved or struck off the companies house register.
Following the report on breakfast, Trading standards in Cardiff received a massive response from the public.
Police arrested one man yesterday on suspicion of breaching the Trade Descriptions Act. Officers also seized a van full of clothes'
Susannah's advice: Check that you are giving your unwanted clothing to a registered charity. You can do this by logging on to the Charity Commission's website.
