Our students got their results live on Thursday's programme |
For thousands of students in England and Wales the wait for A-level results can often be long and stressful. Good grades can help secure an elusive university place, or might be necessary to get a foot on the career ladder.
Today on Breakfast:
Our reporter Sarah Campbell was at Sutton Coldfield College near Birmingham with some students who opened their results live on Breakfast We met two far from typical A-level students. Betty and Chris: not your average A-level candidates |
Betty Allen, who's 78 and her daughter Chris Branton, 50, chose to go online - and have just completed the country's only online English A-level.
Betty has diabetes and sight problems and her daughter has a teenage family - so neither of them found studying plain sailing.
If you missed the moment when they opened their results live on Breakfast, we can reveal that Betty passed with a D and Chris also passed - with a C grade.
And we talked to two highly successful business people who've managed to have pretty good careers without A-levels: entrepreneur Duncan Bannatyne and PR Guru Lynne Franks.
