Millions of viewers tuned to ITV last night to watch Carol Thatcher win the latest series of I'm A Celebrity Get Me out of Here.

It's not that long since critics were proclaiming the death of Reality TV, after the expensive failure of programmes such as Celebrity Love Island.

But ITV's viewing figures this Autumn have been going from strength to strength, thanks to the latest series, hosted by Ant and Dec.

Despite its success with the viewers, there are increasing worries about how reality TV treats its subjects.

Two contestants withdrew from the current series of I'm a Celebrity because of ill health - and a new show on Channel Four is to dupe its subjects into believing they're in America training for a moonshot.
