Quake: the looming aid crisis
George Alagiah in Muzaffarabad
Watch George Alagiah's special reports for Breakfast
Four weeks after the South Asian earthquake, the president of Pakistan is warning of an even bigger humanitarian catastrophe, unless the West gives more aid.

President Musharraf has described the aid so far as "totally inadequate".

Several million people are facing a harsh Himalayan winter without adequate shelter or clothing.

And the UN says it's been given less than a quarter of the money it needs to look after them.

The BBC will be bringing you a special series of reports throughout the day on the impact of the South Asian earthquake.

You can find out more by clicking on the links on the right hand side of this story.

Musharraf: there would be more aid if Westerners had been hurt

  • George Alagiah reported live from Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistani-administered Kashmir.

  • Breakfast's Tim Muffet visited the Byron Primary School in Bradford, which has linked up with other local schools to try to raise 10,000 for the quake appeal.

Some 97% of Byron's pupils come from Pakistani families - and most people who live in the area know someone who's been affected by the quake.

  • We watched as children from Byron put their questions to children in Muzaffarabad.
