Richard Clayderman
Richard Clayderman in the Breakfast studio
"At 16 years of age, I switched to contemporary music."
Nancy Reagan dubbed him the 'Prince of Romance' and he's one of the best selling pianists of all time.

With over three hundred gold and platinum records to his credit he spends months every year performing around the world.

More than that, he inspired many thousands to don a satin smoking jacket and learn to play the piano.

Next month Richard Clayderman tours across the UK - but today he's come over to Britain exclusively for us.

Richard Clayderman was our special Breakfast guest

Richard told us he practises every day, he started at the age of 12, but at 16 he switched from classical to contemporary.

Tour dates: 9-27 March. Northampton; Barnstaple; Dudley; Lowestoft; Hopton on Sea; Southend; Salford; Canterbury; Dartford; Rhyl; Newcastle; Blackpool; Liverpool; Leicester; Leeds.
