Jenny Eclair on fame

Eclair: what happens when your 15 minutes is up?
Four decades ago, the artist Andy Warhol predicted we'd all be famous - for 15 minutes each.

Now, with the help of reality TV, it seems as though his predictions may be coming true.

But why is it that so many people - especially the young - want to be famous?

That's the question which the comedienne Jenny Eclair ponders in a new one-woman show.

Co-written with Julie Balloo, The Andy Warhol Syndrome looks at what happens when celebrity goes stale.

Jenny came in to the Breakfast studio to tell us more - and to explain to Dermot why the phrases "nice" hair and "chick-lit" make her so cross:

  • Jenny Eclair's show, The Andy Warhol Syndrome, is currently at the Riverside Studios in Hammersmith. You can catch it out of London at Shrewsbury: Music Hall (tonight); Oxford (Feb 5); Stamford (Feb 11) Derby (Feb 19)
