He's a former miner and a self-taught artist, but Jack Vettriano's paintings are some of the most popular in the country. His beach-side scenes are reminiscent of the thirties and forties - men in grey suits dancing with women in floaty dresses. And his best known painting, The Singing Butler, sold for nearly �750,000 earlier this year.
