But this time, there's a twist.

The BBC's new series, Strictly Come Dancing, will pair professional dancers with celebrities, to see who can cut the mustard on the dance floor.

Among those taking part are David Dickinson, Lesley Garrett, Martin Offiah - and Breakfast's own Natasha Kaplinsky.

The programme, hosted by Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly, will involve a pop-idol style vote-off to reach the finals.

This morning, to found out how rehearsals are going, we brought Martin Offiah into the studio, to swap notes with Natasha's dancing partner, Brendan Cole.

"It's much harder than it looks," Natasha told us. Each celebrity contestant is paired with a professional dancer. Initially, they have to learn two routines - which will then be put to a vote.

Former rugby champion Martin Offiah explained: "Not only have you got to remember all the steps, you have to get them in time too."

Proceeds from the programme's phone poll will go to the charity Sports Relief.
