Save the Children is asking the British public to give them �6m to help the children of Iraq.

The charity says that many children will die unless they get help. In Iraq half the population is under the age of 14.

The money will go towards helping children to survive the war by giving them the food, medicine and clothing that they need.

Some educational aid will also be provided.

On Breakfast we spoke to Gareth Owen from Save the Children, who is currently in Jordan.

He explained that because children are smaller, they are physically weaker and therefore more vulnerable in conflicts.

In war children often die of disease - diahorrea and dehydration are big killers of children under five.
