Jennifer said there were similarities between herself and her character Marisa in Maid in Manhattan. She said she really understood who she was, being from exactly the same background.

She said that the film is based on reality and deals with the issues of class and love; the fact that it is set in a hotel makes it all the more realistic.

J Lo said the film centres on how people relate to each other and how superficial appearances are.

On the subject of her rise to stardom she said "I think people look at me in a weird way but I talk to people the same way I did."

There has been some negative publicity about the film but as far as the critics are concerned, she thinks it's impossible to control what they say.

She still thinks that people will enjoy the film and that its success in the United States had been reflected in box office takings.

Music

On the subject of music J Lo said she would like to work with Craig David having recently met him on a television show in Germany.

But she has also been experimenting on a project with Bono and also, Dave Stewart. The opportunity to work with LL Cool J came up at the last minute. She says "things like that happen in a quick organic way"

J Lo and LL's single, All I Have, is number one in the US charts.

Asked about her relationship with Ben Affleck she said they met whilst working together and get on well even when at work.

It seems that speculation about marriage is just that with the American tabloids running stories that they should have been married on Valentines day.
