| Hidden costs of holidays ![]() The summer holidays are over - autumn is setting in, so obviously it's time to start planning your next break. But there's a warning this morning that some of the bargains advertised in holiday brochures may not be as good value as they seem. Breakfast's Max Foster talked to Simon Calder Travel writer for the Independent. To have your say, e-mail us at [email protected] The Consumers Association says new style holiday brochures are making it harder to work out the real price of a package holiday. Three of the big tour operators have divided holidays into various levels in the summer 2003 brochures. It means people could find themselves paying extra for meals on the plane, transfers to hotels, pre booked seats and so on. Max Foster outlined some of the findings from the Consumer Association report:
