| The Third Degree ![]() Sheila is best remembered for The Three Degrees Her career has taken her from the Apollo to Buckingham Palace, from the top of the charts to the big screen and also onto bookshelves around the world. Now the legendary Sheila Ferguson has joined the cast of the musical 'Oh What A Night' which kicks off in the UK next week. She came into the Breakfast studio this morning (Friday) to tell us about her latest venture Sheila plays 'Roxie Rochelle', in the musical Oh What a Night: a casting director for the film industry. She teams up with a cast of 30 actors, dancers and musicians for what has been described as "the ultimate 'feel good' show". It is set in New York in 1976. The story is based on a young English singer songwriter Rik, who travels to New York seeking fame and fortune. He takes a job as a bar tender at the Inferno' nightclub, which is the hottest disco in town and hosted by the funkiest DJ around 'Brutus T. Firefly'. Everything seems glitzy and glamorous, but there is trouble bubbling under the surface including a love tangle for Rik and a scheming manager who is plotting to take over the night club. The story is accompanied by a string of 70's classic disco tunes including 'Car Wash', 'YMCA', 'Shaft', 'Play That Funky Music', 'Disco Inferno' and 'When Will I See You Again' and the show stopping 'I Will Survive'. A career in music The celebrated lead singer of the legendary Three Degrees has been described as sexy, sassy, sophisticated and sultry. She can perform in six languages. Her powerful lead vocals spearheaded the group into receiving 28 gold and silver records, along with world-wide acclaim with hits like 'When Will I See You Again', 'Dirty Old Man', Take Good Care Of Yourself', 'A Woman In Love', 'Giving Up Giving In', 'The Runner', (which she wrote with George Moroder), the movie theme 'The Golden Lady' (which she wrote with George Garvarentz) and countless others. She performed at Buckingham Palace for Prince Charles' thirtieth birthday party, as well as being a specially invited guest, and has done charity concerts for many members of the Royal Family. .
