Our Business Presenter Declan Curry has a secret seven list of things which get him through the day.
Find out more by watching our special behind-the-scenes film of Declan's day - and reading his own account of a typical Breakfast shift at the Stock Market.
1. Alarm clock
A tricky balancing act needed here. It has to be something loud enough to wake me up at 2.30am, but not so loud as to disturb the boss of the house.
The peace is kept with the Wallace and Grommet clock radio my sisters bought me years ago.
It is placed at the far end of the bedroom so I actually have to get out of bed to switch it off.
2. Tea
The suddenly-hot, suddenly-freezing shower does its best to wake me up, but nothing beats the parcel of Tetley.
When I'm 40 I'll get a teasmaid.
3. Taxis
Would be left standing without them - and there's a lot of them. One at 3.30am to get me to Television Centre, one at 5.15am to whisk me from there to the Stock Exchange, and another to bring me back for News 24's bulletins after 9am.
Spare a thought for Colin, who does most of the driving, and tends to be the first person I see each day. The poor man.
4. Technicians
Natasha, Darren, Mark and Cliff - the Stock Exchange technicians - who along with Hassan and the camera crews keep us and many other channels on the air all day.
5. E-mail
It never stops.
It's the carrier of a torrent of market information - from a variety of traders, brokers, analysts and bookies.
Not to mention all the viewers' e-mails, packed full with good ideas, funny stories, complaints and compliments. All are welcome.
6. Lunch
No lunch, no gossip. It's the grease on the City's wheel.
7. Patience
Not mine - everyone else's.
Breakfast colleagues, fellow toilers in the business newsroom, the planning desk, the studio control room's technical wizards, the guys who hook up the connection between the Stock Exchange and Television Centre, managers, editors - all are sorely tested during the day. Thank you all.
