Lights, camera, cash!
Martin Kemp, Sara Cox & Michael Madsen
Investing in the success of Red Light Runners
A new British film is looking to raise 8m by the middle of August but investors are being offered more than a share of the profits if it's a success.

Shooting on 'Red Light Runners' is due to begin in the autumn and will star Michael Madsen who appeared in the 1992 film Reservoir Dogs.

He's also co-producing the film and is promising anyone who helps to fund it, a walk on part, and an invite to the 'wrap' party when filming eventually finishes.

Clark Westerman, Co-producer of Red Light Runners

Red Light Runners will be a UK based gangster film shot in Britain. It's a crime thriller and will be filmed mainly around London, although there will be some scenes shot in Los Angeles.

Cameo role

Radio 1 DJ Sara Cox is to make her film debut playing a cameo role in the film.

Former Eastender Martin Kemp is also signed up to the project alongside another silver screen hard-man Vinny Jones - no stranger to the gangster movie following his role in Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrells.

Co-producer Clark Westerman is delighted that Sara has agreed to appear in the film: "She brings the blend of a strong female with the added value of a one person marketing bonanza."

The film is being financed through the UK Enterprise Investment Scheme. So far the it's attracted mainly small amounts from individual investors.

There is no guaranteed return on your money, but it is an alternative way of investing.

The Story

The plot centres on a group of petty criminals from all walks of life who are persuaded by the film's central character (Madsen) to get involved in a more serious crime.

It will be directed by Nick Egan who is a British music video director who has worked with Alannis Morrisette, Oasis, Duran Duran and Kylie. The soundtrack will be by the band Bush.

Michael Madsen will be live on Breakfast at 0840
