Check your tax code to make sure the right amount of tax is being knocked off your salary. A lot of codes are wrong and you don't want to be paying more tax than you have to. Make the most of offers. Many credit cards will let you transfer your balance at 0% interest for six months. There's nothing to stop you changing to a new card provider every six months. But read the small print to ensure no other strings are attached. If you have some cash in an instant access account for a rainy day, you could transfer it to a cash mini-Isa. Then you wouldn't pay any tax on the interest. Moving your mortgage around can save you big money. If you have a �100,000 mortgage with a standard variable rate of 5.75%, you could easily knock about 2% off that. There are some good deals around which mean you don't have to pay any fees. All in all, you could end up saving yourself �2,000 a year. Are you paying more than you need to for your power or phone? Some utility suppliers have recently put their prices up, so it pays to shop around to see if there's a better deal available.
