| Analysis ![]() The Analysis editorial team Analysis is broadcast on BBC Radio 4 on Thursdays at 2030 GMT and repeated on Sundays at 2130 GMT. For more than 30 years, Analysis has been examining the ideas and forces which shape public policy in Britain and abroad. The subjects the programme covers range from the principles guiding foreign policy to the influence of Darwinism on present-day ideas about human nature; from arguments about whether the better-off will be more willing to pay higher tax to the reasons behind the rise of the populist Right in Europe. Our presenters are distinguished writers, journalists and academics; our contributors are policy-makers or leading authorities in their fields. What the Papers Say "This outstanding programme generates light where others only generate heat. It invariably gets beyond the waffle, spin doctoring and histrionics which characterise so much debate in this country to uncover real issues explored with real arguments, using people who have engaged their brains before opening their mouths." "A good claim to being the most incisive and challenging current affairs strand on Radio or TV." "Radio 4's most distinguished, thoughtful, far-sighted and influential current affairs programme." In 2000 Analysis won the Political Studies Association's 50th Anniversary Award for Outstanding Broadcast Journalism.
