Future school: New teaching methods
Breakfast's future schools series
21st Century approaches to teaching
Technology and new teaching methods are fast changing the way our children are taught.

Since the start of 2007, Breakfast has been looking at the future school.

We've seen how technology has changed the classroom from a room with desks and chairs, to a state- of-the-art space with computers and plasma screens.

We'll have more reports in the coming months on Breakfast, and we'd like to hear your thoughts.

  • In our latest report, Sarah Campbell went to a school in Clacton, Essex which is effectively three mini schools
  • Watch again from the link to the right - there are also links to parts one and two of our series
  • Bishop's Park College is trying something new both in terms of its layout and also the way it teaches the national curriculum.

It is divided into three as they believe pupils work better within smaller units - they stay in the same groups throughout their time at the school.

Instead of the usual subject timetable, pupils have a theme each half term and all subjects are taught within that theme.

They believe it makes the subjects more relevant and interesting
