Iranians discuss their country's nuclear programme and the international stand-off over the issue.

Iranians care less about developing energy and more about having their voices heard. The regime has embarked on its nuclear programme, steering the country into terrible isolation without asking the people if they want this form of energy or not. It's not only the West that is suspicious about the hard-liners' intentions. Iranians don't want nuclear weapons in the hands of a cruel and extremist government either. The revelation of the second nuclear facility shows that the Iranian regime has been lying to the international community all along. The world needs to act now to stop them developing nuclear weapons. I hope that the international community does not treat Iran in the same way as North Korea - oscillating between the carrot and stick. This would just encourage Iran's leaders to continue ignoring the world. It would be better to impose tough, targeted sanctions. Now is a unique opportunity to do so as the Iranian nation consider the current government responsible for difficulties they are facing in their daily lives. Pressure on the Supreme Leader and his advisors might even encourage him to stop backing Ahmadinejad.
