Iranian opposition leaders have vowed to defy the authorities by attending ceremonies to honour those killed in the violence following the country's disputed election result.
Among those who died on 20 June was Neda Agha Soltan, a young woman whose death was filmed on a mobile phone. She has taken on iconic status for the country's opposition cause and the government fears any ceremony to honour her death could spark more violence.
Jon Leyne reports.
