Richard Holbrooke, the US special envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan, has given his assessment of the war against the Taliban.
Speaking during a trip to Kabul, he told the BBC's Lyse Doucet that he wanted "clear visible progress in about a year", and that some engagement with the Taliban had "long been a part of the policy" for the region.
