The former US Secretary of State and National Security Adviser Dr Henry Kissinger has long argued for high-level dialogue between the United States and Iran.
Speaking to the BBC's Gavin Essler, he said that he felt the demonstrations in Tehran amounted to a turning point for the Islamic Republic.
