Obama on Iran nuclear issue

President Barack Obama has called for a new beginning in US relations with the Muslim world in a keynote speech in Egypt.

On the Iranian nuclear issue, Mr Obama said: "No single nation should pick and choose which nations hold nuclear weapons" and said Iran had the right to peaceful nuclear power.

President Obama said it would be difficult to "overcome decades of mistrust" but added that it was important to move forward "without preconditions on the basis of mutual respect".
