Pope Benedict XVI has arrived in Israel as he begins a trip that will include a visit to the Holocaust memorial at Yad Vashem.
He was greeted by Israeli President Shimon Peres, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other senior officials as he arrived at Israel's international airport in Tel Aviv.
During an address, the Pope spoke of the need to fight anti-Semitism, as it continues to 'rear its ugly head' around the world.
