An Iranian-American journalist branded a US spy has been jailed for eight years by Iran after a brief trial held behind closed doors.
Roxana Saberi, who denies the charge, once worked for the BBC and has also worked for the US broadcasters NPR radio and Fox News.
Her father Reza told NPR radio that she was "weak and frail" and planned to go on hunger strike.
