Urgent drive for Gaza ceasefire

The US Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, says she hopes there will be a ceasefire in Gaza "very, very soon".

Hamas has rejected Israel's conditions for a truce, but diplomatic activity has intensified with high-level talks in Washington and Egypt.

On the ground, rockets are still being fired into Israel and the Israeli bombardment continues.
