Gaza pounded by new air strikes

Israel launched 60 air strikes on the Gaza Strip on Wednesday night, targeting facilities used by the militant Hamas group.

Among the buildings damaged was a mosque in Gaza City and the northern city of Beith Lahiyah was also hit.

Palestinians demonstrating against the Israeli action threw rocks in the West Bank town of Bethlehem and the village of Bilin.
