While touring the southern Israeli town of Ashkelon, former Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu had to seek cover in a shelter when a siren echoed, alerting an imminent Gaza rocket strike.
Mr Netanyahu, a leading candidate for prime minister in the upcoming elections, criticised Hamas for violating the ceasefire and reiterated Israel's conditions to end the violence: "I hope that when the Palestinians speak of a ceasefire they mean something more serious".
